I am a college graduate from Yemen with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. After I graduated from the Engineering College in Aden, Yemen, I worked for almost five years with the Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA), a non-profit organization in Basateen, Aden, Yemen at a Somali refugee camp. At ADRA, I started as an English/Arabic Translator and Interpreter and Data Entry Specialist for approximately one year. I translated social assessment documents that contain bio-data about refugees and official documents such as correspondence between ADRA and the UNHCR. I also interpreted during official meetings such as those between the UNCHR and ADRA and meetings with the Country Director and Arabic-speaking staff. I also completed data entry with bio-data for Somali refugees, Syrian refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs).
