Experience
I currently teach grade 6 English in New York city. I previously fulfilled both short and long-term substitute assignments across various subject areas, effectively teaching students of varied academic age levels (K-11) and diverse cultural backgrounds. I also taught two English courses two summers in a row, at the grade 8 and 9 levels with 20 students per class, covering some of the following topics: essay writing, persuasive vocabulary, short stories, oral presentations, debates, analyzing documentaries, reading comprehension. I developed quizzes, exams, and homework, and I was responsible for preparing lesson plans and evaluating the students. During my internships at McGill University, I taught English, at the grade 7, 8 and 9 levels with 25 students per class, covering some of the following topics: English literature (Shakespeare), academic writing, oral presentations, poetry, short stories, and novels. I developed quizzes, exams, and homework and was responsible for preparing lesson plans and evaluating the students. I have 4 years of experience tutoring students of all levels and ages in English and French. I have also taught ESL students. Lastly, I am also a certified teacher in New Jersey.
